1. Chancellor sees "extraordinary" health students in action

   LJMU Chancellor, Nisha Katona MBE, dropped in for a visit to the Faculty of Health and was moved by the “extraordinary students” that she spoke with and learnt new skills from.

   LJMU Law students are being offered career and networking opportunities from Liverpool Law Society (the society that represents all lawyers from the Liverpool City Region) due to a new collaboration between the two organisations.

3. Training for managers: disabilities and long-term health conditions, including mental health

   LJMU’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team, are proud to be working in partnership with coaching and training specialists; Result CIC (Community Interest Company) and are pleased to offer LJMU Managers, Programme Leaders and Personal Tutors (those directly responsible for staff/students) the opportunity to participate in a half day Training for Managers of Staff with Disabilities & Long-Term Health Conditions Including Mental Health, workshop.

4. Academic Board election results 2023

   A host of representatives from our faculties, along with professional services, have been elected to the Academic Board following a series of elections that took place over the past fortnight.

5. Over 200 students graduate at LJMU partner college in Malaysia

   262 students have graduated from YPC International College, one of LJMU’s long term academic partners, at a ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

6. Effects of global warming on Merseyside

   Geographers at LJMU have used mapping software to show how Liverpool, Wirral and parts of Sefton would be affected by a seven-metre rise in sea level.

7. Gouldian finches black-headed females taking the lead when faced with possible danger

   Endangered species like the Gouldian finch struggle in adapting to ever increasing habitat change, but black-headed females are leading the way in their survival.
