As a graduate of the Liverpool College of Art, the forerunner to today’s Liverpool School of Art and Design, it was here that he undertook a course in illustration, one of the many ex-servicemen and women who joined the school after the war.

Andy Cooke has a distinguished policing career spanning more than 30 years, eventually seeing him taking on the highest role within Merseyside Police as Chief Constable. Robert is a lecturer in criminal justice with a research focus on organised crime groups, which was influenced by his own experiences growing up on an estate in Merseyside where many young people were drawn into criminality.
