1. Major new study into impacts of COVID-19 on children

   A major study has been launched to learn more about the impact of COVID-19 on children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

   Student Futures, LJMUs Careers, Employability and Enterprise team, have a range of exciting, paid internship opportunities available for L5 and 6 (second and third year) students working on a real-life project for a local business/SME.

3. Astronomers catch Tatooine multiple star system as it forms

   For the first time astronomers, including Dr Richard Parker, of the Astrophysics Research Institute at LJMU, have caught a multiple-star system as it is created, and their observations are providing new insight into how such systems, and possibly the solar system, are formed. The amazing images taken from a series of telescopes on Earth show clouds of gas which are in the process of developing into stars.

   Ramadan begins on 2 April and our LJMU Equality team is sharing the support available for those celebrating plus their advice on how our LJMU community can help students and staff who may be fasting.

7. Graduation review Thursday 11 July 2019

   The penultimate day of our summer graduation week boasted three ceremonies; graduands from Liverpool Business School celebrated in both the morning and afternoon, while graduands from the School of Humanities and Social Science enjoyed their ceremony with family and friends from 5pm.

8. Cutting edge performance analysis technology on the curriculum for sport science students

   A new education partnership with Catapult Sports is ensuring that students have the skills and experience needed to excel as professional coaches and sports scientists.

9. New HEFCE funding to upskill Liverpool City Region’s engineering industry

   LJMU has been awarded a share of £6.1 million by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) to develop new and enhanced higher education courses.

10. MBA student named North West’s Outstanding Cancer Nurse 2022

    Shirley Pringle was presented with the award at the North West Cancer Research's Awards Ceremony, in Liverpool, earlier this month.
