1. Paramedic students spring to action to help casualty

   Two third year paramedic students sprang to action last week to help a casualty who had fallen on Rodney Street, Liverpool.

   The CourseLoop Canvas resource has short video guides on how to get started in addition to information if you require additional help and support.

3. Cook Together at LJMU: Free lunch, recipes and supermarket voucher

   As part of LJMU’s support with the rising cost of living, LJMU will be relaunching our Cook Together initiative this Friday 3 February with a free lunch in SLB

4. More than 120 local school pupils take part in LJMU Summer University

   Over the past month, more than 120 14- to 17-year-olds from across the UK have taken part in LJMU summer schools to inspire students from underrepresented backgrounds to consider higher education.

5. Launch of Men's Staff Network

   The Men’s Staff Network will provide a space for colleagues to celebrate the positive contributions and achievements of men; raise awareness of the issues affecting men and boys and the associated impacts on wider society and offer opportunities for formal and informal networking and mentoring.

6. Events across LJMU to celebrate International Women's Day 2023

   LJMU is proud to be supporting this year’s International Women’s Day theme #EmbraceEquity, with a selection of events open to all staff and students, happening across the University over the next two months

7. Reciprocal Mentoring Programme involving BAME Staff, Black Students and Senior Leaders

   Given the success of last year's pilot, we are running the LJMU Reciprocal Mentoring Programme again and we are extending it to include BAME staff from across the institution. The programme is open to all LJMU Senior Staff from Director Level of non BAME Background and to BAME staff from non-Director Level and to Black Students from all Faculties.

8. 91 LJMU students jet off to study abroad this month

   Over ninety students will head off to 18 countries this year as part of LJMU's Study Abroad Programme.

9. 'Most Inspirational Student Nurse of the Year' awarded to LJMU's John Wells

   Third year Adult Nursing student, John Wells, has picked up the ‘Most Inspirational Student Nurse of the Year’ award at the Student Nursing Times Awards 2023.

10. Law Students Take Part in Mock Employment Tribunal Event

    As part of LJMU's School of Law ethos to provide students with career-shaping opportunities, students recently participated in a mock employment tribunal at Liverpool Town Hall. The event allowed students to experience the inner workings of an Employment Tribunal and observe the skills and knowledge needed as they progress towards their careers in the legal sector. The students were able to experience a simulated trial thanks to the teams at Brabners, 9 St John Street Chambers and Adaptable Recruitment.
