   LJMU have a dual focus on quality on education through curriculum delivered in Liverpool and via our external engagement activities. We have committed to feature sustainable development as part of our taught courses, and we’re making efforts to decolonise the curriculum. We’re committed to our local community, delivering training for secondary school students in climate, chemistry and astrology.

3. SDG 9 - Industry, innovation and infrastructure

   Investing in infrastructure and innovation is essential to driving economic growth. At LJMU, we’re using innovative approaches to teach our students about new technologies while providing global citizenship skills at the same time. Our researchers have worked across multiple industry sectors, supporting sustainable innovation and industry growth across the Liverpool City Region and beyond.

4. Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME)

   Since joining the United Nations’ Principles of Responsible Management Education initiative (PRME) in 2020, the world entered an unprecedented time of volatility and uncertainty. Despite that, Liverpool Business School continued to grow all aspects of its portfolio, including our commitment to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

5. Professor Dhiya Al-Jumeily OBE

   Dhiya Al-Jumeily is a professor of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and has been teaching at LJMU for more than 26 years. He was awarded an OBE in The Queen’s New Year Honours list of December 2020 for his service to scientific research.

6. Volunteering and Summer Opportunities Fair - 9 February, 12-3pm, Student Life Building

   At our Volunteering and Summer Opportunities Fair, we'll have charities, businesses and organisations from across the UK and overseas from various sectors. Some are looking for volunteers, others are offering paid summer opportunities, including Go Global schemes like Camp America.

7. Financial Literacy for Social Inclusion (FINCARE)

   Liverpool John Moores University is a lead partner in the EU funded, Erasmus+ project, Financial Literacy for Social Inclusion (FINCARE).

8. Rt Revd Dr Rupert Hoare
