   LJMU has performed well in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2023. The Office for Students (OfS) has published the survey results, which paint a positive picture of the LJMU student experience, while helping us to identify some areas for improvement.

3. Are we alone? Professor Monica Grady delivers latest Roscoe lecture

   Are we alone? Is there the possibility of life elsewhere beyond the earth? This was the subject of a fascinating lecture on the cosmos and the universe in the latest Roscoe lecture at St Georges Hall, delivered by Monica Grady, Professor of Planetary and Space Sciences at the Open University (OU)

4. How can staff enhance the student experience? ‘Make every contact count’

   More than 120 staff from across the university attended an engagement workshop on prioritising the student experience.

5. Themes emerge from inaugural Liverpool Health Commission investigation

   Liverpool Health Commission, supported by LJMU, is currently midway through its inaugural investigation and is able to report a number of emerging themes.

6. Global impact for publication on lack of exercise under ‘lockdown’

   Research which highlights changes to the human body during lockdown and other sedentary situations is having a huge impact among scientists worldwide.

   Staff-student project explores ways to enhance student engagement and satisfaction

8. Bronze award for support of the Armed Forces

   LJMU has received the bronze award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) acknowledging how we provide support to the Armed Forces community.

9. Researchers on hand at Tim Peake link up

   Researchers from LJMU’s Astrophysics Research Institute and School of Sport and Exercise Sciences supported the live in-flight call with British astronaut Tim Peake, which took place at Liverpool’s World Museum.

10. Recognition for China engagement strategy

    LJMU was runner-up in the Education Links Category at the Greater China Awards, awarded by the Department for International Trade (DIT) North West recently.
