1. LJMU MA Film Festival 2022 begins 1-8 April

   LJMU MA Film Festival 2022 returns for the second year premiering 40 student films from 22 countries

2. LJMU receives Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence and National Teaching Fellowship

   LJMU is one of 15 teams to win the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) and an LJMU academic has also been awarded one of 54 National Teaching Fellows (NTF). Dr Philip Denton, Principal Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, is the recipient of the NTF and the paramedic team at LJMU’s Schools of Nursing and Allied Health received the CATE.

3. January exams to be moved online

   We have made the decision to move all examinations scheduled from 4th January online

4. MA Screen School Alumni celebrates feature film on Amazon Prime

   J1S, a feature film by LJMU MA Screenwriting graduate, Jay Cunningham, 44, has been released on Amazon Prime.

5. LJMU partners with L8 community celebration

   On Saturday 25 June, staff and students from LJMU will join hundreds of people at Firefit Community Hub (115 Upper Warwick Street, L8 8HD) in Toxteth for a community fair and celebration of everyone and everything that makes L8 so unique.

6. Making space for women to thrive in astrophysics

   More than 100 schoolgirls heard from LJMU astrophysicists during a special British Science Week event that celebrated the contribution of women in STEM.

7. LJMU celebrates winners of Paramedic Games 2022

   Current LJMU Paramedic Science students, Mathew Keegan, Emily Brown & Naomi Roberts have been named the winners of the Paramedic Games 2022 at LJMU.

8. Social mobility: making the future work for everyone

   Former UK Secretary of State, Justine Greening, led a series of discussions at LJMU this week aimed at creating better opportunities for young people.

9. LJMU produced films to be shown at COP26 in Glasgow

   LJMU films of how fast rising sea levels impact island communities will be shown to delegates at Glasgow COP26 next week.

10. In memoriam: Dr Jo Croft

    Dr Jo Croft, senior lecturer in English, died of cancer on 15 January. She was a dearly-loved colleague and teacher at LJMU for nearly 28 years.
