1. 'First Class Honours' for social mobility

   Welcome news this week that LJMU is amongst the UK's top performing universities for enabling social mobility.

2. LJMU celebrates Malaysian graduation with new McCartney exhibition in Kuala Lumpur

   LJMU celebrated the achievements of its Malaysian-based students in a special graduation ceremony.

3. LJMU leads partnership with technology hub to support and innovate region’s businesses

   LJMU received a £2m government grant to help SMEs, and has used the funding to partner with the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) to help transform regional industry through the use of a new Business Launch Centre (MTC@LJMU) based at LJMU’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

4. Panama welcomes LJMU at world-famous canal launch

   A Liverpool delegation including Eddie Blanco-Davis, from LJMU’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology flew to Panama at the behest of the UK embassy in Panama to attend the official launch of the £3.9bn expansion of the Panama Canal.

5. Merseyside to benefit from Police Knowledge Fund

   The College of Policing has announced that LJMU, Merseyside Police and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPPC) for Merseyside have secured one of 14 successful bids for the Police Knowledge Fund.

6. Astrophysics Research Institute PhD student receives only UK award from NASA

   LJMU has the highest number of Hubble Fellowships in the UK, as one of their latest awards goes to an Astrophysics Research Institute student straight out of her PhD. Dr Emma Beasor was also the only UK student awarded a Fellowship this year.

   LJMU has donated £10,000 to a local charity on the back of the National Student Survey (NSS) 2022.
