1. Vice Chancellor's Awards for Research, Scholarship and Knowledge Transfer 2019

   A summary of the winners of the VC Awards for Research, Scholarship and Knowledge Transfer 2019 conferred at the University Research and Innovation Day in June.

2. LJMU and LCR collaboration creates 44 apprentices for autism charity

   LJMU has collaborated with LCR to transfer £132,000 of unspent Apprenticeship Levy to Autism Initiatives, funding 44 new apprentice care workers for the charity.

   The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences has been successful in its application for Athena SWAN Bronze Award.

4. School of Humanities and Social Sciences create Craft Club for student wellbeing

   The department of Media, Culture, Communication in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences has established a new initiative to create space for students to socialise and support their wellbeing.

5. New LJMU Library ‘Every Voice Collection’ available for all students and staff

   The LJMU Library 'Every Voice: Diversity, Equality, Inclusion Collection' has over 8000 titles that champion different voices.

6. Family judge for Cheshire and Merseyside hosts first LAC public debate event

   Her Honour Judge Margaret de Haas QC hosted the first public debate held by LJMU’s Legal Advice Centre, which focused on the legal rights of grandparents.

7. Bob Steventon

   We have received the sad news that our former Energy and Environment Manager Bob Steventon passed away earlier this week.

8. Project Harpocrates scholarship for police staff seeking a career in covert investigations and intelligence

   The police staff, drawn from Nottinghamshire Police, West Midlands Police and British Transport Police, secured the scholarship opportunity under an initiative known as Project Harpocrates. The project seeks to support law enforcement efforts to recruit and retain staff in the highly specialist area of covert operations and specialist intelligence.  Whilst the project was open to all officers one of the specific aims of the project is to increase the representation of  Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff (BAME)  in this challenging and exciting area of investigation and intelligence management.
