1. Students at the Heart Conference 2024: submissions now open

   Submissions are now open for the Students at the Heart Conference and the theme for 2024 will be ‘community.’

2. Free student transport to our Freshers Fair 2024

   Free coach travel to and from the event all day.

3. Discover, engage and collaborate with Uncover Liverpool

   The ultimate guide to what’s happening across the city providing access to a broader creative community that enriches both your personal and professional life.

4. First Step Spring Internships available for Level 4 students

   A new pilot internship programme for first year students (level 4 only) with little to no previous work experience launched on Monday 15 January and close at midnight on Sunday 4 February. There will be no interview process for these opportunities, the Student Futures team will undertake a matching process between participating organisations and students. The internships will begin on Monday 4 March (start dates may vary for each role).

5. Take a quick survey to raise money for a local charity!

   The National Student Survey (NSS) launches this week for final year undergraduates. If you’re a final year student, you can help LJMU raise money for a local charity simply by taking a short survey.

6. Bob Steventon

   We have received the sad news that our former Energy and Environment Manager Bob Steventon passed away earlier this week.

7. Vaping not permitted in LJMU buildings

   This is a reminder that vaping is not permitted in any building at Liverpool John Moores University.

   Find out all you need to know to register to vote in the General Election on 12 December.

9. LJMU launches Sustainable Development Goals hub

   LJMU is outlining its commitment to the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through a microsite which highlights the research and knowledge exchange, student experience and place and partnership activities, that showcase the university’s ongoing journey towards a more sustainable, prosperous future for local communities and the whole planet.
