   A new scheme, Positive Action Training (PAT), helping local people of colour enter employment at LJMU has been launched by the Vice-Chancellor (interim).

4. MA Student shortlisted for ‘Tourism Young Person of the Year’

   LJMU student Victoria Smith, 24 was shortlisted for the Tourism Young Person of the Year award at this years Liverpool City Region Tourist Awards 2022. The awards, that took place at Liverpool Cathedral, saw businesses and guests from across Liverpool celebrating the city regions tourism sector.

6. Olympus partnership to train more professionals in cancer screening

   Liverpool John Moores University is set to train more people in diagnosing cancer thanks to a partnership with global optics firm Olympus.

   Scientists in Liverpool have found that cocoa can increase oxygen uptake and make exercising easier for more sedentary people.

9. New book tracks nursing care in the Soviet Union

   LJMUs Dr Susan Grant has spent the last decade researching and tracing the history of nursing care in the Soviet Union, with her discoveries now documented in a new publication Soviet Nightingales: Care under Communism.

    LJMU enhances global reputation in research and teaching
