    At the Public Health Institute we provide advice to policymakers in consideration of the relationship between the environment and public health. Projects include: the use of parks, climate change, economic benefits of green infrastructure and evaluation of green projects for the community.

    The Public Health Institute's expertise into international public health includes: maternal and reproductive health, the promotion of health, refugee health, violence prevention, drug abuse, and more. Find out more about this aspect of research.

  3. Sustainable Resource Processing and Reuse

    The Sustainable Resource Processing and Reuse theme is investigating advanced technologies and solutions to address current sustainability goals, climate change and reduction of carbon footprint for example anaerobic digestion, biodiesel production from waste streams, water and wastewater purification and resource capture.

  4. Applied Physiology Nutrition and Metabolism Group

    The Applied Physiology Nutrition and Metabolism Group within RISES are involved in health, wellbeing, recovery and sporting performance. Our research into exercise metabolism and adaptation is applicable to the design of interventions that improve human health.

  5. Time domain astrophysics

    Within the time domain astrophysics research group, we are involved in major observational survey projects. We work on a variety of explosive transients, including galactic and extragalactic novae, type la supernovae, core collapse supernovae, and gamma rays bursts.
