1. Can supermarket trolleys help cut risk of stroke? - trials underway

   Shopping trolleys will be used to help save people from suffering a stroke by identifying irregular heartbeats, as part of a new medical trial.

3. Graduation review: Wednesday 10 July

   Students from Liverpool Screen School, the School of Law, Liverpool School of Art and Design and the Liverpool Centre for Advanced Policing Studies received their awards.

4. Empowering staff to support PGRs from racially minoritised groups

   Academic and professional services staff who support PGRs have a bespoke training and development opportunity designed by the educational charity Grit Breakthrough. Using a coaching approach to support PGRs is a two-day online coaching workshop, which will run across two days in November.

5. Colleagues proudly support Liverpool Against Racism events

   LJMU staff members proudly supported sessions at the Liverpool Against Racism Conference this week, a day of conversation around systematic racism in society and a debate on what meaningful change really looks like.

   A new Print Room service for bulk printing and specialist requirements has launched today

7. Mind the GaP!

   Time is rapidly running out for Principal Investigators to be trained on the new Grants and Projects (GaP) system. It has been agreed by the University that any bids for external funding (research and enterprise activity) from April 2020 will need to be set up by the Principal Investigator on the GaP system, so its important that you book onto training ASAP.

8. LJMU joins BBC scheme to boost female representation in the media

   Liverpool John Moores University has teamed up with the BBC to improve gender representation in UK broadcasting.
