1. Volunteering and Summer Opportunities Fair - 9 February, 12-3pm, Student Life Building

   At our Volunteering and Summer Opportunities Fair, we'll have charities, businesses and organisations from across the UK and overseas from various sectors. Some are looking for volunteers, others are offering paid summer opportunities, including Go Global schemes like Camp America.

2. About the project – Faces of Merseyside

   The Faces of Merseyside was created and presented by Face Lab. The project shows the average facial images of people in Merseyside based on their occupations and interests.

3. Community – interviews with women activists in Nepal

   As a part of the Qualitative Analysis in Action project, you are invited to read the interviews with women who are making positive changes to their communities in Nepal. The interviews help us to gain a better understanding of these women's unique and inspirational lives.

4. LJMU Funded internships and work-based learning

   Find out how you could secure an LJMU-funded internship with a local organisation, working on a suitable graduate-level project. Internships are available to Level 5 and 6 LJMU students and graduates from the most recent graduating class.

5. Using forensic science to tackle illegal wildlife trade 

   More effective measures of detection are needed to help stop the trade in illegal animal products. An LJMU graduate is working on an innovative approach to address the problem.

6. New social media policy

   The university has launched its new social media policy to help staff get the most out of their communications and to stay safe.

7. Initiative to put nature in planning policy recognised

   A key initiative to put nature at the centre of planning policy across the Liverpool City Region has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award.

8. Training police to the highest standards

   LJMU continues to impact the quality of police training in England and Wales with a new partnership to co-deliver a Graduate Diploma in Professional Policing Practice.

9. Project Harpocrates scholarship for police staff seeking a career in covert investigations and intelligence

   The police staff, drawn from Nottinghamshire Police, West Midlands Police and British Transport Police, secured the scholarship opportunity under an initiative known as Project Harpocrates. The project seeks to support law enforcement efforts to recruit and retain staff in the highly specialist area of covert operations and specialist intelligence.  Whilst the project was open to all officers one of the specific aims of the project is to increase the representation of  Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff (BAME)  in this challenging and exciting area of investigation and intelligence management.

10. How nature can benefit our economy

    Liverpool John Moores University is supporting plans to embed natures benefits for a more resilient and healthy economy in the Liverpool City Region.
