1. JST partners with LJMU to offer mentorships to undergraduate journalists

   LJMU’s is one of six universities, John Schofield Trust (JST) has partnered with to offer 1-2-1 mentoring to undergraduate journalism students.

2. LJMU appoints Julia Midgley as Bicentenary year Artist in Residence

   Julia has a long history of connections with the university and will record events throughout 2023 in documentary drawing and watercolour sketches.

3. July is Disability Pride Month

   July marks the celebration of Disability Pride month. An opportunity to raise awareness and have positive conversations about disability in study and the workplace.

4. Project Harpocrates scholarship for police staff seeking a career in covert investigations and intelligence

   The police staff, drawn from Nottinghamshire Police, West Midlands Police and British Transport Police, secured the scholarship opportunity under an initiative known as Project Harpocrates. The project seeks to support law enforcement efforts to recruit and retain staff in the highly specialist area of covert operations and specialist intelligence.  Whilst the project was open to all officers one of the specific aims of the project is to increase the representation of  Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff (BAME)  in this challenging and exciting area of investigation and intelligence management.

5. Zia Chaudhry MBE is to join Liverpool John Moores University as the Director of the LJMU Foundation for Citizenship

   As Director of the LJMU Foundation for Citizenship, Zia will lead the University’s social engagement activity, building on LJMU’s long history of community engagement and impact, ensuring that the University maintains strong and innovative partnerships with other community organisations.

6. Roscoe Lecture Review: Ian Ayre

   Liverpool Football Club’s former CEO Ian Ayre delivers Roscoe lecture on the football industry of today and tomorrow.

7. Honorary Fellow Zia Chaudhry MBE

   Liverpool John Moores University awards Honorary Fellowship to Zia Chaudhry MBE at Liverpool Cathedral on Tuesday 11 July 2017.
