1. Project Harpocrates scholarship for police staff seeking a career in covert investigations and intelligence

   The police staff, drawn from Nottinghamshire Police, West Midlands Police and British Transport Police, secured the scholarship opportunity under an initiative known as Project Harpocrates. The project seeks to support law enforcement efforts to recruit and retain staff in the highly specialist area of covert operations and specialist intelligence.  Whilst the project was open to all officers one of the specific aims of the project is to increase the representation of  Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff (BAME)  in this challenging and exciting area of investigation and intelligence management.

2. Major new study into impacts of COVID-19 on children

   A major study has been launched to learn more about the impact of COVID-19 on children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

3. LJMU host third annual research conference on menstruation

   More than 125 people took part in workshops and discussions on inclusive menstruation

4. Thermal ‘fingerprinting’ to help conserve rare animals in Madagascar

   SCIENTIFIC methods developed at Liverpool John Moores University and Chester Zoo to count animals from the air are being adopted in the wilds of Madagascar.

5. Get vaccinated on campus this October

   Female students aged 18 to 25 can get a HPV or MMR vaccine at Byrom Street, Monday to Saturday from 14 to 26 October.

6. Liverpool partnership delivers improved access and support for student mental health services

   Students in Liverpool are benefitting from improved mental health support, thanks to a partnership between universities and NHS services across the city.

7. Anna Soubry MP visits Sensor City

   Business Minister, Rt Hon Anna Soubry MP, visited the site of the new Sensor City to see how the £15 million facility will revolutionise sensor technologies.

8. LJMU to host Universities Policy Engagement Network fringe event on EDI

   The university will host an event for the Universities Policy Engagement Network (UPEN) to further their work in addressing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) within academic-policy engagement.

9. Developing the diverse workforce of the future for engineering and technology

   LJMU hosted events with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers exploring diversity and inclusion in engineering and technology skills.

10. Black History Month Lecture reaches over 100 pupils!

    In celebration of Black History Month LJMU Historian Dr Andrea Livesey delivered a bespoke lecture entitled "Toppling Statues and renaming building" | The Black Lives Matter Movement and the History of Slavery to young people across the U.K.
