1. Celebrating Black History Month

   For this year's Black History Month celebrations, LJMU is involved in a range of events.

2. Women in football celebrated at inaugural LJMU networking event

   On Wednesday 15 June, LJMU celebrated the work of women in football at the inaugural meeting of the Football Exchange Women's Network (FExWN). The event brought together network members, delegates and industry speakers to celebrate their contributions to the sport and to challenge the realms of what is considered possible.

3. Initiative to put nature in planning policy recognised

   A key initiative to put nature at the centre of planning policy across the Liverpool City Region has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award.

4. Maritime SuperSkills Project

   Event to celebrate the successful completion of the project at the Maritime Museum, Royal Albert Dock on 13th June 2019. Attended by Iain McKinnon, Secretary Maritime Skills Alliance, local and national employers and LJMU staff who have helped with the project.

5. International learning experience at Virtual Global Citizens Conference 2020

   Delegates from all round the world participated in the LJMU Virtual Global Citizens Conference between 11-12 November 2020. They discussed seven adapted UN Sustainable Development Goals.

6. LJMU produced films to be shown at COP26 in Glasgow

   LJMU films of how fast rising sea levels impact island communities will be shown to delegates at Glasgow COP26 next week.

7. 'Americana' Catherine selected for Filmadrid

   Film-maker Catherine Norton's new film is the only UK video-essay selected for Madrid film festival.

8. Dr. Emma Roberts, Reader in History of Art & Design, publishes article in Harvard University journal.

   Dr. Emma Roberts, Reader in History of Art & Design at Liverpool School of Art & Design, has published an article in the Harvard University journal, 'ReVista: The Harvard Review of Latin America'. The article discusses the important topic of public sculptures in the Caribbean on the theme of emancipation from slavery. 

9. Project Harpocrates scholarship for police staff seeking a career in covert investigations and intelligence

   The police staff, drawn from Nottinghamshire Police, West Midlands Police and British Transport Police, secured the scholarship opportunity under an initiative known as Project Harpocrates. The project seeks to support law enforcement efforts to recruit and retain staff in the highly specialist area of covert operations and specialist intelligence.  Whilst the project was open to all officers one of the specific aims of the project is to increase the representation of  Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff (BAME)  in this challenging and exciting area of investigation and intelligence management.

10. LJMU celebrates winners of Paramedic Games 2022

    Current LJMU Paramedic Science students, Mathew Keegan, Emily Brown & Naomi Roberts have been named the winners of the Paramedic Games 2022 at LJMU.
