  2. Gordon Millar

    Gordon plays a key role in Liverpool’s lively theatre scene as the Artistic Director and CEO of Unity Theatre, a venue that started life in the 1930s and continues to explore current societal matters through its performances. As an LJMU drama alum, he continues to support current students who were once in his shoes and is proud to have many new graduates working at Unity today.

  3. Chantelle Lunt

    Chantelle is an alumna and current PhD researcher here at LJMU. She is a writer, public speaker, educator, entrepreneur and activist. She’s a national civil rights campaigner and the founder of Merseyside Alliance for Racial Equality CIC (MARE), a non-profit organisation committed to promoting racial equality across Merseyside through grassroots community-led education and engagement work.

  6. Louise Shepherd CBE

    Louise is the Chief Executive of Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust and has a distinguished NHS career spanning more than 30 years. In 2023, she became an honorary fellow of LJMU in recognition of her transformative, visionary leadership in healthcare for the benefit of young people.

    Mariama undertakes outreach work for the university, working with schools across the country to establish meaningful connections that help young students to realise their academic and personal potential. Inspired by her early life experiences, moving from Africa to Northern Ireland, and then the opportunities afforded to her by LJMU during her own studies, she is determined to help others and act as a role model.
