1. Art and Science Exchange

   On Tuesday 27th & Wednesday 28th August 2019, the MA Art in Science programme at Liverpool School of Art and Design hosted an Art & Science Exchange workshop with members of the Biochemical Society. The exchange was held at the John Lennon Art and Design Building, in the Public Exhibition Space and X-Gallery amongst the MA Art in Science student's end of programme postgraduate exhibition, which showcases the outcomes of their three month research projects. These projects served as a basis for investigation of specific art-science interactions, and were supported by open discussions, hands on activities and a Liverpool LASER talk.

2. £5m boost towards region’s green economy

   More businesses in the Liverpool City Region could benefit as a low carbon business support programme led by Liverpool John Moores University has received a £5m boost.

3. Olympic Alumna addresses Sports Scholars

   World, Commonwealth, European and Olympic medallist, Anyika Onuora recently returned to Liverpool John Moores University to talk to sports scholars, sport interns and staff from student sport societies about her experiences as an LJMU Sports Scholar.

4. The Angola 3 and the struggle for justice

   Liverpool John Moores University welcomed two of the Angola 3, Robert King and Albert Woodfox, on Thursday 3rd November as part of their European Freedom Tour.

5. Liverpool and Togo to forge vital links

   The Ambassador of Togo visited LJMU recently to establish academic, research and business links between LJMU and Liverpool city region and the Universities and businesses in Togo.

6. Formula Student road to Silverstone explored in new 1823 Podcast

   In a special edition of the LJMU 1823 Podcast: The road to Silverstone, Dr Christian Matthews is joined by LJMU e-Racing Head of Team 2022, MSc student Cameron Reedy, and former Head of Team, Rhian Griffith, who now works as a mechanical engineer at the Small Robot Company.

7. Healthcare staff striving to further their knowledge and skills celebrated by LJMU

   More than 150 healthcare professionals from across the country were celebrated at a conference hosted by LJMU that championed advanced clinical practice.

8. Art on Merseyside celebrated on campus

   LJMU hosted charity Arts Friends Merseyside in recognition of the organisation’s dedication to the arts in the region, while celebrating LJMU's art collections.

9. Chancellor Nisha Katona's 'afternoon with Claire House Children's Hospice'

   Claire House is one of LJMU’s corporate charity partners. Chancellor Nisha Katona attended “an afternoon with Claire House” to raise the profile of the amazing work the charity is doing for terminally ill children in Merseyside.

10. Vice-Chancellor receives Maritime Ambassadors Award

    LJMU Vice-Chancellor Professor Nigel Weatherill has been recognised by Mersey Maritime for his commitment to securing the future of the Liverpool City Region Maritime Sector.
