1. Tate launch for Literature and Cultural History Research Institute

   Themes of sea, migration and mobility swept through the launch of the University’s Research Institute for Literature and Cultural History at Liverpool Tate.

2. New mental wellbeing peer support

   We have a new team in place to help support any member of staff with their mental wellbeing. The LJMU Connectors are on hand to provide peer support and make sure colleagues have access to the appropriate resources and services.

3. LJMU submits 600 academics to Research Excellence Framework 2021

   On March 25, the University hands over its best research to the 2021 Research Exercise Framework, the REF. With more than 600 academics put forward and dozens more colleagues behind the scenes, the REF is arguably the largest project undertaken by the university community.

4. Centre for Educational Research seminar series 2022-23

   Next month, the Centre for Educational Research (CERES) seminar series kicks off with two online events taking place every month from October through to May.

5. Churchill Way Flyovers

   Liverpool City Council will shortly begin the process of demolishing the Churchill Way flyovers.

6. Donate to support homeless people this winter

   A local community organisation run by one of our academic staff is appealing for donations to support homeless people this winter.

7. Bob Steventon

   We have received the sad news that our former Energy and Environment Manager Bob Steventon passed away earlier this week.

8. Liverpool FC Women rise to the top with an assist from LJMU

   Liverpool FC Women clinched the title of the FA Women's Championship and promotion earlier this month, thanks in part to the help of backroom sport science experts from LJMU.

9. Women in football celebrated at inaugural LJMU networking event

   On Wednesday 15 June, LJMU celebrated the work of women in football at the inaugural meeting of the Football Exchange Women's Network (FExWN). The event brought together network members, delegates and industry speakers to celebrate their contributions to the sport and to challenge the realms of what is considered possible.

10. Professorship and Readership Conferment: Call for submissions

    Each year applications are invited for the conferment of Professorships and Readerships and the process for 2020 is now open.
