1. Take charge of your pension

   This Pension Awareness Week (11-15 September) access free, impartial, and straightforward pension information, as well as a series of live sessions.

2. Four useful apps for new students to download

   My LJMU, Canvas, Outlook and the Microsoft Authenticator apps are essential for all new students.

3. Advance HE Aurora Programme final days to apply

   LJMU staff are reminded that the application deadline for the Advance HE Aurora Programme, a leadership development initiative for women, is Friday 4 November 2022.

4. Changes to the Leadership and Development Foundation

   The Leadership and Development Foundation is undergoing some changes to better support all staff development across the whole of LJMU.

5. Teaching staff urged to sign-up for My Pensions Online

   The start of the academic year can be a good time to review your pension arrangements. All academic teaching staff are reminded that they can sign-up to an online portal if they are members of the Teachers Pension Scheme.

6. Applications open for Research England Policy Support Fund

   LJMU is being allocated funding from the Research England Policy Support Fund (PSF) to support the development of impactful research and engagement activities. Applications of up to £10,000 will be considered and applicants have until 5pm on Monday 10 October 2022 to make a submission.

7. Annual survey and audit of teaching space to take place this February

   The survey will be conducted between the hours of 9am and 5pm from Monday 5 to Friday 9 February 2024.

8. National Eye Health Week 18 - 24 September

   We are promoting the importance of good eye health, sharing important eye care advice to encourage adopting healthy habits and highlighting the need for regular eye tests.

9. Lunar New Year celebrations at LJMU and across Liverpool

   This week LJMU and JMSU held Lunar New Year celebrations in the Student Life Building to welcome in the year of the rabbit. Find out more about Lunar New Year and celebrations happening across the city this weekend

10. Academic Staff Governor voting now open

    All Academic staff have until 5pm on Monday 19 June to vote for their preferred Academic Staff Governor candidate.
