1. Join the Pride March on Saturday 27 July

   LCR Pride takes place on Saturday 27 July and we will be taking part in the Pride March on Saturday afternoon.

2. LJMU receives Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence and National Teaching Fellowship

   LJMU is one of 15 teams to win the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) and an LJMU academic has also been awarded one of 54 National Teaching Fellows (NTF). Dr Philip Denton, Principal Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, is the recipient of the NTF and the paramedic team at LJMU’s Schools of Nursing and Allied Health received the CATE.

3. Family judge for Cheshire and Merseyside hosts first LAC public debate event

   Her Honour Judge Margaret de Haas QC hosted the first public debate held by LJMU’s Legal Advice Centre, which focused on the legal rights of grandparents.

4. Screen School student hailed at international film festival

   A Screen School student has won first prize at the 2019 Pesaro Film Festival. Taking place in Pesaro, Italy, the festival recognises the talents of established and emerging filmmakers, and confers awards covering a range of areas, including a category for university students.

5. LJMU campaigns successfully for better status for clinical exercise professionals

   Clinical Exercise Physiologists can now become registered health professionals

6. The Liverpool Peace Symposium

   LJMU academics are teaming up with the Church for a one-day symposium on peace.

7. Responding to our Community and Neighbourhoods

   LJMU is proud of its place in Liverpool and we are at the beating heart of almost everything that happens in the region.  However, with that presence comes a responsibility to be mindful and aware of our potential impact. In partnership with the other universities in the city, LJMU has embarked on a number of initiatives to work with local residents.

    On Saturday 25 June, staff and students from LJMU will join hundreds of people at Firefit Community Hub (115 Upper Warwick Street, L8 8HD) in Toxteth for a community fair and celebration of everyone and everything that makes L8 so unique.
