Locally, we offer state of the art facilities for students to train the next generation of maritime experts. We also work closely with ports and maritime companies to tackle key industry challenges. Internationally, our researchers have used forensic science to curb the illegal trade of marine wildlife and to detect microplastics in seas.
Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement or ‘PPIE’ has become a wide-spread phenomenon in health and social care research. PPIE is considered the gold standard of research and is typically required by funding bodies (such as the NIHR) to access grant funding.
