2. Another successful year for the online summer course “Sustainability and Employability”

   Over 60 students successfully completed the online summer course Sustainability and Employability: Understanding Sustainability Issues and Getting Ready for the Job Market.

3. Sport and Exercise Science education adds £3.9 billion income to the UK economy

   Results of a new report show that Sport and Exercise Science courses added £3.9 billion in income to the UK economy, with average salaries for SES graduates after six months of employment at £21,100 per annum. Over the course of their careers, SES graduates earn on average £667,000 more compared to their non-graduate peers.

5. Liverpool Philharmonic, Help Musicians UK and LJMU announce pioneering research partnership

   Liverpool Philharmonic, Help Musicians UK and Liverpool John Moores University have announced a new partnership for groundbreaking research into injury prevention in professional musicians.

6. City remembers disability rights hero and LJMU Honorary Fellow

   Sir Bert was a leading disability rights activist and was awarded his Honorary Fellowship at LJMU in 2002 for services to equality and promoting the rights of disabled people. He also served as a Governor of the university for nine years.

7. Sport and Exercise Science study highlights the health benefits of a Home-HIT routine

   A new study investigating a home-based, high-intensity interval training regimen was recently carried out by LJMU’s Research Institute for Sport and Exercise Sciences and has now been published in The Journal of Physiology.

8. Student Spotlight: Abbie Romano

   The representations of women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) roles is improving, but there’s work to be done. As of 2018, WISE Campaign (Women into Science and Engineering) announced that the UK is on track to have one million women working in the field by 2020. These statistics are encouraging, and demonstrate an improvement in opportunities shown to young women who pursue the career path.

10. Graduation review - Thursday 22 November 2018

    Students from the Schools of Sport Studies, Leisure and Nutrition, the Public Health Institute and the School of Nursing and Allied Health celebrated their success in the morning ceremony, while graduates from the School of Education were recognised in the afternoon.
