2. Climate change ‘opened and closed’ migratory door through Arabia for 400,000 years

   One of the driest places on Earth has intermittently been a 'green corridor' for human migration due to historical periods of increased rainfall, according to new research.

3. LJMU ranked one of the top 10 best UK universities in StudentCrowd Awards 2022

   Based on online reviews over the past two years, LJMU is ranked as the 6th best UK university according to the StudentCrowd awards 2022.

4. Postgraduate students – you could win £100 by completing a quick survey

   LJMU continues to impact the quality of police training in England and Wales with a new partnership to co-deliver a Graduate Diploma in Professional Policing Practice.

7. Screen School student hailed at international film festival

   A Screen School student has won first prize at the 2019 Pesaro Film Festival. Taking place in Pesaro, Italy, the festival recognises the talents of established and emerging filmmakers, and confers awards covering a range of areas, including a category for university students.

8. Christmas closure and support services over the festive break

   The university will close at 5pm on Thursday 23 December and reopen at 9am on Tuesday 4 January. The Student Life Building will be open 24/7 throughout the festive break including on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

9. LJMU students help refugees at the Polish/Ukrainian border

   MA Wildlife Conservation students Vanessa Grundy, 27 and Alex Donnelly, 27 along with Vanessa's brother Mike Grundy are currently at the Poland-Ukraine border helping refugees get to safe accommodation in Krakow, and further across Europe, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

10. The lives of working mules: film screening and Q&A at FACT

    A POIGNANT film about the life of working mules in the Himalayas is the backdrop to an event at Liverpool FACT in March.
