   Liverpool football fan and LJMU MA Human Resource Management student, Selma Bazara is one of the faces of the new Nike Liverpool Football Club kit.

5. Massive stars sound warning they are about to go supernova

   In a new study, published in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, researchers have for the first time simulated how these massive stars seemingly fade away and disappear when they enter their pre-explosion phase.

6. Exploring the relationship between radio and heavy rock and metal music

   International scholars and practitioners came together to discuss the theme at the inaugural Heavy Metal on the Airwaves symposium organised by LJMU researcher and lecturer Dr Nadim Hassan.

   Liverpool John Moores University has been awarded top 20 positions, across seven categories, in the StudentCrowd University Awards 2023

8. Roscoe Lecture Review: Baroness Helena Kennedy QC

   One of the UK’s most distinguished lawyers and human rights champions Helena Kennedy QC, delivered the 124th Roscoe Lecture at St George’s Hall, as she took the audience through the search for justice in an unjust world.

9. Student Spotlight: Abbie Romano

   The representations of women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) roles is improving, but there’s work to be done. As of 2018, WISE Campaign (Women into Science and Engineering) announced that the UK is on track to have one million women working in the field by 2020. These statistics are encouraging, and demonstrate an improvement in opportunities shown to young women who pursue the career path.

10. Female Applications for Professorship and Readership Conferment

    As the university strives for equality, diversity and inclusion, more women are particularly encouraged to apply for the available roles in Readership and Professorship, as they are underrepresented at these levels.
