Barry Groombridge joined Elder Dempster Lines aged 16. Barry’s first voyage was from London to the United States, via West Africa. The voyage lasted nine months. For summer 2019, LJMU will be sending students on 2 month internships in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Melbourne, Australia. The scheme covers flights, accommodation, insurance, work experience, networking events and might include trips or social activities too!
