1. Trainee pharmacists speed ahead in digital practice

   Pharmacists-to-be are being trained on the world's first fully patient-controlled online health record.

3. Smart meter data could help identify dementia

   Energy use patterns from smart meter data could be used to help identify whether people are suffering from conditions such as dementia and depression, computer scientists have shown.

4. Improving PGT student identity and their experience through understanding their expectations on entry – the findings from an 11 University HEFCE funded project

   The seminar will provide an opportunity for exploration through some of the findings from the HEFCE funded project.

5. Registration open for conference on decolonial approaches to teaching and research

   A mini-conference highlighting developments in decolonial approaches to teaching and research across the university featuring three sessions of talks and discussion on decolonising pedagogy, assessment and research methods, will take place in November.

6. £50,000 project to assess mental health value of 'great outdoors'

   A successful bid by a national research group led by LJMU looks to better strengthen the use outdoor natural environments as a mental health asset over the coming decade.

   It is with great sadness that the university announces the death of Caroline Chinn following a long illness.

   The university has launched its new social media policy to help staff get the most out of their communications and to stay safe.
