1. Majority of April and May exams to be held online

   Most exams in April and May 2022 will be held online. There are a small number of examinations which will be held in-person due to specific requirements of the professional body.

2. Brian May and Sam Davys named in New Year Honours List

   LJMU’s Honorary Fellow, Brian May and former JMSU President, Sam Davys, make 2023 Honours List.

3. April/May exam timetable now live

   The next assessment period for LJMU students will take place from Monday 22 April to Friday 3 May 2024 (inclusive).

   International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) aims to raise awareness of discrimination and violence against people within the LGBTIQ+ community, to drive positive change.

5. LJMU supports law students as host of national speed mooting competition

   School of Law students from LJMU, alongside those attending from other universities, took part in the mooting events, presenting their verbal arguments and putting their knowledge to the test that they’ve learnt during their studies.

6. AI can spot wounded wild animals and poachers in camera trap footage

   AI from Liverpool John Moores University is being used to identify animals, plot their movements and spot wounds in a bid to help conservationists, reports New Scientist.

7. The First British Astronaut - Helen Sharman CMG OBE Is Coming To LJMU!

   On 17th March 2021 Helen Sharman, the first British person in Space and first British Astronaut will give a talk at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). Helen will be speaking about her life and career as a scientist and as the first British astronaut.

8. Wildlife conservation graduate inspires next generation of students

   LJMU graduate, Trang Nguyen, wildlife conservation scientist, environmental activist and founder of the NGO WildAct, in Vietnam, returned to Liverpool and LJMU campus this week to share her knowledge as a leader in the field of wildlife conservation.

9. Law School’s Pro Bono Activity ‘Highly Commended’ at National Awards Ceremony

   LJMU’s Exceptional Case Funding Clinic was ‘highly commended’at an awards ceremony this week.

10. Liverpool leaders share learnings from Reciprocal Mentoring

    The project, which began 14 months ago, saw leaders from across LJMU’s ELT paired with Black and ethnic minority Liverpool city leaders to share their lived experiences and inform policy and decision making at the university and beyond.
