Information about LJMU Scholarships

The University offers a range of scholarships to reward success and to encourage able students to reach their potential regardless of background or personal situation. This section will give you information about the current undergraduate scholarships available for UK and ROI students starting a course in the 2024/25 academic year.

Those with an offer status of Conditional Firm or Unconditional Firm can apply for these scholarships via the Applicant Hub. If you have an offer from LJMU, please be aware that you will need to have selected LJMU as your Firm choice first before you can submit an application for our scholarships.

Applicants who have made LJMU their Firm choice can apply for a scholarship providing they are not in receipt of the NHS Learning Support Fund (LSF). Not sure if this is you? Visit the NHS website to find out what courses are eligible for this support.

Please note:
The deadline for applications is 29 August 2025.

Our scholarships include:

  • The Academic Excellence Scholarship
  • The Community Excellence Scholarship
  • The LJMU Opportunity Scholarship
  • The Sir Bert Massie Scholarship
  • The Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship

If you are an elite athlete then please check out the eligibility criteria for our sports scholarships.

If you are care experienced or estranged from your family, as well as being able to apply for an LJMU scholarship, you may also be eligible for additional support via our John Lennon Imagine Awards.
