The Institute of Cultural Capital is a strategic collaboration between the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University.
The Institute of Cultural Capital (ICC) conducts collaborative and interdisciplinary research that critically examines the role and value of cultural interventions in urban environment, from grassroots initiatives to large-scale cultural events and festivals.
Established in 2010, this leading centre of cultural policy research is a strategic collaboration between the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University.
Our research is structured around three core themes:
- Cultural Policy and Major events
- Cultural Value and Public Policy
- Cultural Assets and Social Value
The institute if led by a core team of internationally acclaimed researchers and draws upon the considerable expertise of partner institutions and a global community of cultural policy experts.

Liverpool Screen School hosts the Institute of Cultural Capital, established in 2010, a leading centre of cultural policy research and a strategic collaboration between the University of Liverpool and LJMU.
