New entrepreneur discovery competition
LJMU is hosting the local heat of a new entrepreneur discovery competition, open to all University alumni and students.
The Federation of Self-Employed and Small Businesses and FSB Connect are running the competition to give budding entrepreneurs a financial boost and raise their profile.
The LJMU heat takes place on Monday 4 July, 10.30am to 1.45pm, at the Redmonds Building on Brownlow Hill, and is an opportunity for young entrepreneurs, aged 35 and under, to showcase their ideas and innovations to a panel of experts.
The winner on 4 July will receive an FSB award and a £200 gift, as well as being nominated for the FSB Annual Regional Business Awards.
To apply, express your interest by email to Dominique Aspey in the Centre for Entrepreneurship, by Monday 20 June.
For the day of the competition, you will need to prepare a 10-minute pitch which must cover why the idea is innovative, where it fits in the market, the route to market, and why it will be commercially successful.
To apply and/or for more information, email d.aspey@ljmu.ac.uk or telephone 0151 231 2583.
