New website course search function

New website course search function

This week marks the launch of an exciting new development to the LJMU website.

A project group have been working with an external agency (Sagittarius) to improve the course search function. The previous search didn't allow the flexibility that other institutions provide and we wanted to enhance this experience for visitors to our website.

The updated pages now allow everyone the opportunity to search in a variety of ways, depending on their preference.

These include:

·         By keyword/search term (as currently exists)
·         By A-Z list (if you know exactly what course you want to study)
·         By subject (leading you to new landing pages, allowing prospective students to find related courses together in one place – UG and PG courses)

Subject clusters were a new initiative for LJMU that started life in the 2019 undergraduate prospectus and mini guide and have now moved beyond print to the website.

The 27 clusters allow students to see the breadth of courses that we offer and enable them to discover courses they may not be aware of.

As we move to include subject clusters as part of our CRM email marketing campaigns for 2020 undergraduate recruitment, these landing pages will be utilised to provide a new way for prospective students to discover our courses and all of the options available to them.

We would like to thank everyone who has been involved with the project, at one stage or another, for their help and support.
