SCP47 Thermal Comfort and Ventilation of Internal Spaces

 

This Code of Practice, which is University Policy, sets out the means by which the University will provide a comfortable working environment, complying with its Health and Safety and carbon abatement obligations. Responsibilities fall mainly on estate Management and also on line managers of staff who raise concerns.

The Academic Framework Regulations for 2019/20 have been approved by Academic Board and are available on the Policy Centre. They are relevant to all LJMU staff, students and academic partners.

The Educational Video and Audio Recording Policy has been updated and the associated form, Non-LJMU Employee Recording Permission Form, made available on the Policy Centre. These are relevant to LJMU staff and academic partners.

 

The following Safety Codes of Practice have been updated:

SCP13 Supervision

This Code of Practrice, which is University Policy, explains the responsibilities of different staff when they are supervising the activities of other staff, or students. It is likely that many staff will, at some point, supervise others; therefore, this is likely to be relevant to them.

SCP19 Permits for Contractors

This Code of Practice, which is University Policy, is intended to address those situations where there is a statutory requirement to control potentially hazardous activities, by way of a formal permit to work system. Responsibilities contained within this Code of Practice are mainly those of Estate Management.

SCP43 Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment

This Code of Practice, which is University Policy, sets out the University’s procedures for the control of hazards arising from lifting operations and lifting equipment. Responsibilities are mainly those of Estate Management. Directors also have responsibilities for staff who use lifting equipment.
