Policy Updates

Updates to Policies

The Academic Framework Regulations: What’s New for 2019/20 has now been published in the Policy Centre. This is relevant to all LJMU staff and academic partnerships.

The updated Recognition of Prior (Experiential) Learning and Credit Transfer Handbook and the Recognition of Prior (Experiential) Learning Policy have been updated. These are relevant to staff, students, applicants and academic partnerships. The headline changes to these two documents include:

  1. The University has removed the requirement for RP(E)L to be mark bearing (with the exception of internal transfers and learning completed as part of the University’s Study Abroad programme)
  2. The University has removed the right of existing students to apply for credit transfer, RPL and RPEL, limiting applications to University applicants who apply prior to enrolment (with the exception of internal transfers)
  3. The University has removed the role of RP(E)L Coordinator, which predates the appointment of Faculty Registrars. In future, all enquiries relating to RP(E)L should be forwarded to the relevant Faculty Registrar.
