Policy Updates



Updates to Policies

The following Safety, Health and Environment Codes of Practice have been approved by ELT and are available in the Policy Centre:

WCP3 Smoking and Vaping: WCP3 No Smoking and WCP6 Electronic Cigarettes have been merged to create this one new policy which is relevant to all building users. There have been minor changes to wording.
SCP31 Construction (Design and Management) Regulations: This code is relevant to all LJMU staff and contractors. There have been no major changes in roles and responsibilities, but changes have been made to wording and hyperlinks. Changes reflect the minor structural and role description changes.
SCP44 Approved Scaffolding Contractors: This code is relevant to all LJMU staff and contractors. Updates relfect legislative updates, minor wording and hyperlink changes and reflect the minor structural and role description changes.
SCP10 Contractors: This code is relevant to all LJMU staf and contractors. Updates relfect the University's appointment and role and responsibilities of a Facilities Management Company in the appointment of contractors. There have also been minor wording and hyperlink changes and changes relect minor structural and role description changes.
SCP41 Management and Control of Water Quality, Legionella and Associated Risks: This code is relevant to faculties, Estate and Facilities Management and contractors. Updates reflect legislative changes, structural changes, separates roles and responsibilities at Estate and Faculty/School level (Section 4), and the University's appointment and role and responsibilities of a Facilities Managemtn Company in compliance with legislation and this code of practice.
SCP35 Work-related Stress: This code is relevant to all LJMU staff. This code makes reference to the Work-related Stress Policy and associated guidance which can be found on the HR web pages. Changes to the code reflect the move away from group stress risk assessments to team wellbeing surveys and assessments, along with the move from individual stress risk assessments to wellbeing reviews, which have streamlined the process.

 

The Student Employability, Enterprise and Employment Strategy was approved by Academic Board and is now available in the Policy Centre. This strategy is relevant to all LJMU staff, students and graduates.

The Personal Circumstances Policy and Educational Video and Audio Recording Policy have both been updated and approved by Academic Board. Both these policies are relevant to LJMU staff, students and academic partnerships.
