LJMU VC PhD Scholarships

The competition has opened for funded PhDs through the annual LJMU Scholarship Scheme.

The Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research and Enterprise invites applications from exceptional students through a proposed Lead Supervisor to the LJMU VC PhD Scholarships. The Scholarships are for three years and must be for full-time study (except fees only scholarships), and are open to UK and EU students only. They must begin at the start of the Winter Term 2021 (January/February Doctoral Academy Enrolment Window*).

Uniquely, in support of the “Year of the Nurse and Midwife” and in recognition of the importance of NHS workers, the university is also ring-fencing two positions (fee and bench fee support) to registered nurses or midwives who wish to study with us part-time whilst continuing in their clinical roles.

Judging applications will be undertaken by the PVC for Research and Enterprise Professor Keith George and the Associate Deans for Research. This year instead of being judged solely on the calibre of the student the team will also consider the quality of the project and how it meets the vision of our research strategy.

Applications (including cover letter and CV) should be submitted by the supervisor via email to E.J.Walker@ljmu.ac.uk by 5.00pm on 18th September 2020. No further applications will be considered once the 5pm deadline has passed.
