LJMU rated highly in sustainability table
LJMU has been ranked as one of the top four universities in the country for ethical investment in a national review of sustainability in higher education.
The institution has moved up the overall university league compiled by People and Planet, the UK’s largest student network, campaigning for social and environmental justice.
For 2022/23, LJMU has been rated fourth out of 153 universities for ethical investment, fourth in the North West of England for overall sustainability and ethics, and has successfully met the sector’s carbon reduction target.
In the overall league table, the university has climbed three places to 46 – rated as a 2:1.
LJMU’s strong performance comes after the recent publication of its ambitious Climate Action Plan, which sets out the university’s sustainability targets for the next decade.
The overarching ambition is for LJMU to reach net zero by 2035.
