Students at the Heart Conference - Have your say!
The Students at the Heart Conference will be on 15/16 June 2022, and we would like to invite submissions from across the LJMU community and our partner organisations.
Building on the successes of the previous Teaching and Learning, and Professional Services Conferences, this event will be an opportunity to launch our new university values and, most importantly, reinforce how students are at the heart of everything we do.
As we move towards our bicentenary in 2023, LJMU has reaffirmed our focus and commitment to delivering an outstanding student experience. Each and every one of us has a critical role in this.
The Students at the Heart Conference brings us the opportunity to showcase what we already do so well, challenge conventional ideas, and propose new ways of working – all with a focus on providing an outstanding experience to all of our students.
Vision and values
The event will provide lots of opportunities to share practice and insight, highlight projects and initiatives, network, and celebrate all aspects of LJMU life. It will be held in the Student Life and Redmonds Buildings.
The Conference will focus around the new LJMU Vision and Values, which are:
- Student Focused: Caring for our students to give them a transformational University experience
- Inclusive: Embracing and respecting diversity
- Community: Making a difference to people’s lives
- Courageousness: Speaking out boldly and acting for change
When submitting your proposal, please demonstrate how it relates to one or more of the above values. You can opt for a standard full session or short lightning talks, and we are also interested in any suggestions for other innovate approaches.
Student co-creation
As the Conference title suggests, we want students to be a key presence, and so particularly welcome sessions that are co-authored and/or co-presented by students.
Please get in touch if you want to talk through ideas or have any queries about the Conference itself by emailing us at SATHconf22@ljmu.ac.uk. You should submit proposals here. The submission registration form is open until 9am, 21st March 2022.
Registration to attend the Conference will open in May.
