Professorship and readership conferment process

To provide as much planning time as possible we can confirm that the LJMU professorship and readership conferment process for 2023/24 will open from 27 November 2023.

The deadline for submission of applications will be Monday 29 January 2024 by 11.59pm.

Briefing sessions

To help with the application process, we are holding a series of briefing sessions for members of staff interested in applying.

The purpose of the sessions is to offer potential applicants the opportunity to ask any questions you may have regarding your application and ensure the criteria is fully understood and adhered to.

We will hold a general briefing session on 20 November 2023, with further sessions to be scheduled across December and January. We will provide more details in due course.

These briefing sessions are aimed at staff who have an interest in applying in 2024 as well as those looking to provide a plan of action and support for a future application. All sessions will be delivered by staff who sit on the University Conferment Panel. These sessions are seen as an additional support to any local or central mentoring programmes for staff and/or any one-to-one support provided in helping develop applications.

Amy Gregory, HR Operations Advisor, will be taking over from Holly Newton as secretary to the Professorial and Readership Panel for the next 12 months.
