Changes in Core Café opening times: Tuesday 31 October

Due to the passing of one of LJMU’s much loved catering team members, Colette Dalton, there will be several changes to Core Café opening hours across the day on Tuesday 31 October, as LJMU staff attend her funeral: 

• The John Lennon Art and Design Building Core Café where Colette worked will close all day, Tuesday 31 October 

• All other Core Cafes will close from 11.15am to 1.30pm to allow staff members to attend Colette’s funeral 

• During the period of closure, a number of pre-packed lunches will be given out at Byrom Street Upper and Lower, Tithebarn, Redmonds, Pavillion and SLB.  

• For hot drinks students should use the vending machines available around LJMU campus 

In memoriam

Colette was a familiar face to students and staff within the John Lennon School of Art and Design Building and across campus, having worked at LJMU for 41 years. An incredibly popular member of the team with students, Colette recently received a JMSU Student Experience Award for outstanding professional service and her warmth and affection was felt by many of our students.  

She will be deeply missed by all her colleagues and the LJMU community.
