Volunteer opportunities with Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal

As part of the 2023 Royal British Legion (RBL) Poppy Appeal, Liverpool John Moores University Students’ Union (JMSU) is working with the university’s Armed Forces Steering Group to coordinate student volunteers to collect for the charity over the Remembrance period.

Volunteers are needed from Tuesday 31 October through to Saturday 11 November with collection times between 10am and 4pm daily.

There will be Poppy Appeal stands in Liverpool One initially, and then from Saturday 4 November, further sites across the city centre where volunteers will be positioned.

Volunteers will be placed with RBL staff and other volunteers in Liverpool city centre locations – you’ll never be alone; you’ll always be volunteering with others.

Whether you can spare a couple of hours, a full day or even longer, sign-up and register through the JMSU volunteering opportunities hub.

You can also speak with the university’s Armed Forces Champion, Dr Gus Ryrie, send Gus an email if you have any questions about volunteering or LJMU’s support for the Armed Forces community.

The RBL is a Corporate Fellow of LJMU and a charity that provides lifelong support to serving and ex- serving personnel and their families.
