Registration for the Students at the Heart Conference 2023 is now open



This year’s Students at the Heart Conference will take place on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 June.  

Registration is now open for the conference and staff and students are invited to attend the various workshops and sessions across the two days. 

The conference will also feature two key note speeches to open each day of events:

Wednesday 7 June: Dr Michelle Morgan, Dean of Students, University of East London.  

Keynote speech: In search of the perfect student.

Thursday 8 June: Gareth Dixon, Managing Director, Rainmaker Consulting ,LJMU alumni and former JMSU President.

What is the Students at the Heart Conference? 

The conference is a cross university event that brings Teaching and Learning, Professional Services, and students into one combined event and as 2023 marks our Bicentenary, this year’s Students at the Heart Conference theme is ‘LJMU always ahead of our time’. 

What kind of workshops and events are taking place? 

From sessions on how to build a strong university community, the Muslim student experience and green careers to workshops on Research Informed Teaching, The University Mental Health Charter and embedding Diversity and Inclusion. Other highlights of the Students at the Heart Conference 2023 

As well as keynote speeches, sessions and workshops the conference will also include: 

  • A free lunch each day 

  • A charity bakesale 

  • Closing reception with Vice- Chancellor, Professor Mark Power, plus a BBQ 

  • A Bicentenary celebration room including interactive displays and archive materials in recognition of 200 years of LJMU
