MA fashion student showcases womenswear at L1 John Lewis

Liverpool-based designer Leigh Taylor, and MA Fashion student, is set to showcase her spring/summer 2023 collection at John Lewis in Liverpool One this week (Monday 12 June to Sunday 18 June).

Leigh Taylor is a British womenswear brand that is based on Leigh’s Indian heritage.

She works closely with artisans and family-owned factories in India each year to create beautiful embroidered and block printed fabrics. Her collection is designed and handmade in her Liverpool-based studio.

After studying fashion at undergraduate level, she went on to sell her brand in TOPSHOP stores across the UK for five years. Leigh then began her MA at LJMU as she wanted to further study sustainability and focus on ways she can connect the consumer to the artisan and the journey and beauty that goes into each piece.

Kayla Owen, Programme Leader MA Fashion Innovation & Realisation, said: “I'm very proud of what Leigh has achieved, pre-completion of her Master's. She is a fabulous student!”
