Restrictions on using USBs

From September USBs will no longer be allowed on LJMU equipment

From Monday 4 September, students will no longer be able to use USB storage devices on LJMU computers, laptops and other IT equipment.

The new restrictions are in response to cyber risks posed by USB storage devices. All students have access to OneDrive, the university’s cloud based storage system and we encourage students to store their files here instead.

If you require access to large files via a USB for your programme, your course leaders will have already made an exemption request on your behalf.

If you have any issues with the USB restrictions, you should contact the Library via the help desk, chat or phone number on the Library webpages.
