Five things for our new students to do before they arrive

As more students confirm their places at LJMU and we prepare for clearing, here’s five essential things we’ll be encouraging our new students to do as soon as possible so they are ready to join us on campus and start studying.

Complete their online student registration

This includes setting up their university computer account and uploading a photo for their student ID card.

Download the My LJMU app

With the app they will be ready to access timetables once available, to request support and book tutorials.

Download the Canvas app

So they can access study materials and to see important updates from teaching staff.

Download the Outlook email app

To enable them to send and receive emails from their LJMU email address and to receive university-wide updates like the weekly newsletter.

Set up multi-factor authentication using the Microsoft Authenticator app

To be able to safely access university systems while working off campus.

New student checklist graphic

We’ve put together a checklist graphic that you might like to download and share with your new students in any presentations during their induction to ensure that they download the apps and make the most of the Freshers activities.

What else are we sharing with our new students?

Full details shared with our students can be found on our welcome webpages, where we outline other essential information from moving in to accessing student support.
