New workplace milk initiative

*Orders for the milk have now closed. Please contact cateringenquiries@ljmu.ac.uk if you wish to register a department for future collections (please note that 5 working days' notice will be required)*

A new milk order and collection system, running in partnership with our Catering Services Department, has been developed to ensure that staff has access to semi skimmed and soya milk for their refreshments in the workplace at no personal cost to them.

It is hoped that the new initiative will ensure equity across the university, with all staff now having access to funded milk supplies. It is also hoped that we might see a reduction in waste across our campus.

How will it work?

The initiative will operate under the following principles:

  • Each department/team can only have one milk collection per week
  • Each department/team should identify three members of staff who will be responsible for their weekly collections
  • Collections will be on a Monday only
  • Collection will take place between 9am and 10am (however this will be subject to supplier delivery) at your selected LJMU Core Café
  • Orders can be amended once a month and five days’ notice must be given for any changes, please submit your amendments via email to Catering Services
  • In the event of milk not being collected on two occasions the department/team will be excluded from the scheme

How do staff submit their order?

Departments/teams should discuss the logistics for their orders to ensure there is no duplication and to agree the three members of staff responsible for their milk collections.

Once arrangements have been made across departments/teams, the Departmental Milk Order Microsoft form can be submitted.

When will staff start getting their weekly milk orders?

The first milk collection will take place on Monday 5 February 2024, and then every Monday going forward after this date.
