New staff facilities now open

A new staff lounge is now open in Byrom Street as part of a programme of works to enhance facilities in our City Campus.

The staff lounge, which is on the first floor of the James Parsons tower, offers a space for staff to break out from work, relax and socialise.

Replacing the old coffee shop, the lounge has comfortable seating areas, a self-service kitchenette and tea/coffee-making facilities.

Further enhancements in Byrom Street

The programme of works delivered by the Estates and Facilities Management team has also created the new student zone on the ground floor, which brings together a range of key student-facing services, designed by the faculties, Student Futures and Student Advice and Wellbeing.

The second phase of enhancements to facilities in the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences has also been completed, while a new design makers space for the School of Engineering is now up and running.

Thank you to all staff for your patience and cooperation while the works were carried out.

The enhancements represent a significant investment by the university to ensure we are providing the best possible environment for staff and students.
