Apply to study abroad

Applications for LJMU’s study abroad programme are now open.

Students can apply to spend either one semester or an academic year abroad at one of LJMU’s partner institutions across the globe.  

Am I eligible to study abroad? 

Study abroad options are available to full-time students and are course specific. Dependent on your programme of study: 

  • Current Level 4 students - can apply for semester 2 of Level 5 abroad 

  • Current Level 5 students - can apply for an additional year of study between level 5 and 6 

Where can I study?

LJMU’s partnerships are specific to your course but destinations include Spain, Norway, Portugal, Italy, France, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Cyprus, Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands, USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and China. 

You can find out which course specific destinations you can study by logging into your My LJMU account and selecting the Global Opportunities button

How to apply? 

To get approval to study abroad log in to your My LJMU account and select three study abroad partners, then self-enrol on the Study Abroad canvas module to download the application form, then submit.

You can then submit an application for a semester or year abroad. The deadline to apply to study abroad is Friday 1 March.
