Have your say and nominate an honorary fellow

We’re asking our students, staff, alumni and LJMU community to nominate individuals they would like to become an LJMU honorary fellow.

An honorary fellowship is awarded to a select number of individuals outside the university who personify our values and inspire others, in recognition of their outstanding achievement in a given field or profession.

We’re asking our LJMU community to have their say and nominate an individual who has inspired you, promotes inclusivity, is courageous, has shared their time and knowledge with our students or cares for our community.

Our current honorary fellows are closely connected with the work of LJMU and play an active role in the life of the university by delivering guest lectures, hosting events, helping with projects and in some cases mentoring and supporting individual or groups of students.

Over 300 individuals have been awarded an LJMU honorary fellowship, from LJMU alumni and professional footballer, Nikita Parris and BBC journalist, Ngunan Adamu to King Charles III, formerly the Prince of Wales, and his holiness the Dalai Lama.

How to nominate an Honorary Fellow

You can submit a nomination via the online Honorary Fellow nomination form, with your reasons for your nomination; why you believe they would be a good honorary fellow, their association with LJMU/the North-West and any timely reason for the nomination.

The deadline for nominations is Thursday 28 March, 5pm. Once all nominations have been received, a panel, chaired by Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mark Power, will consider all submissions and make a selection.

Therefore, those you are nominating should not be contacted or approached, as the university will do this upon selection.

If you have any questions on making a nomination or the process, please contact Catherine Ryan or Colette Quail.
